The all-new Subaru Legacy and Outback were unveiled at the 2009 New York Auto Show. The much anticipated fifth generation of these two models was long overdue and they have already received plenty of praise. But before their release, Subaru will also be adding two new models to the range, including a Touring wagon and a sport package-equipped B4 model.
Subaru’s Touring model will feature the same styling of the Legacy sedan, as well as the same engine choices. This will includes a 2.5 liter engine with 170 horsepower and 170 lb ft of toque, as well as the superb turbocharged engine that produce 265 horsepower and 258 lb ft of toque. Birmingham Subaru dealers say there will be a 3.6 liter V6 that will produce 256 horsepower and 247 lb ft of toque.
The Subaru Legacy Touring model will be larger than its predecessor according to one Boise Subaru dealer. Not only has the wheelbase grown, but so has overall length and width. Thanks to these improved dimensions, the Touring model will have improved storage space as well.
For the sport enthusiasts, the new B4 sedan will come with the 265 horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. Combined with sporty 18 inch wheel and subtle body kit, a used car dealer Springfield MA suggests the B4 won’t be a vastly improved performer, but it will certainly look the part and standout from the rest of the lineup.
Although Japanese consumers will be the first to get their hands on these new models, the Touring and B4 models will hit Subaru dealers stateside by the end of 2000 with pricing close to that of the sedan.
